C F Spencer & Co Ltd are very pleased to have been successful in agreeing terms with Sedgemoor District Council to supply the Harbour Master and Deputies thus extending a relationship that has been successful for both parties over a considerable period.

C F Spencer & Co Ltd have supplied Pilots and Deputy Harbour Masters to the Port of Bridgwater for some 20 years. In a recent move (September 2006) Sedgemoor District Council took the decision to outsource the position of Harbour Master.

Chris and John are the new incumbents to the role of Harbour Master and Deputy Harbour Master respectively, having taken up their duties from September 2006.

Chris Spencer, and John Stone are serving licensed pilots for the Port of Bridgwater, and frequently navigate vessels up to 85 metres in length in a narrow, fast-flowing river.

The port supports a general cargo berth and an aggregates berth at Dunball (just below the old Bridgwater docks) and the Nuclear Electric Roll on Roll off berth at Combwich for the Hinkley Point Nuclear Reactor Power Station.
